In the UK, many students enter an undergraduate program at a university upon completing secondary school. Typically, students spend three years studying in a specific academic discipline in order to receive a Bachelor’s degree in said discipline. Students must generally complete a round of general education requirements like basic math and writing classes. However, after this period, students have greater freedom to choose academic electives.
