School Description

Founded in the year 1845 by the Royal Charter, Queen's University Belfast is the UK's 9th oldest university. With over 170 years of education experience, it is composed of 16 schools through which it offers 158 bachelor's degree and 100 master's degree courses in study areas including art and languages, biological sciences, chemistry, agriculture, computer science, history and philosophy, social justice, theology, law, mathematics and physics, medicine, education, among many others. Queen's University Belfast is complete with all the essentials the average student might require. From banks, post office, a variety of dining options, recreational and athletic facilities, you'll never have to leave the campus, which is just a 15-minute walk away from the city center whose vibrant history and culture make for a great but inexpensive destination for students.

Admission as an international student at Queen's University Belfast requires the applicant to demonstrate English their proficiency through an overall IELTS score of at least 6.5 or a TOELF IBT score of 90. However, if you are a student who do not meet any of these requirements, you can apply to an INTO Queen's University Belfast Pathway program, where you will be provided with additional preparation for an academic life in the UK, and trained to be proficient in the English language while earning university credit hours that will be counted once you continue on to a degree program at Queen's University Belfast.
