Fontbonne University is a co-educational, liberal arts, Catholic university located in Clayton, Missouri. School Description

Fontbonne University was established in 1923. The institution was named after Mother St. John Fontbonne, who re-founded the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph, after the French Revolution. In the period between 1960 and 1980, the institution began admitting male students. After years of continued growth, the institution finally changed its status from college to university in 2002.

Fontbonne University has a student body of over 1,500 students, with 28 countries represented. All incoming students go through new student orientation that will show them what life would be like as a Griffin. Among the many activities that students can be involved in on campus includes student organizations that range in interest from academic to social interests.
