Deakin College - Pathway

Deakin College, formerly known as The Melbourne Institute of Business and Technology (MIBT), is a pathway college to Deakin University in Victoria, Australia. The college has four campuses; three are located in Deakin University campuses: Melbourne Burwood Campus, Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus and Geelong Waterfront Campus an the fourth campus is located in Jakarta, Indonesia.

School Description

Deakin College offers a Foundation Studies Program which is equivalent to upper secondary school and university foundation programs. This program is a pathway to a Deakin College diploma or the first year of a selected Deakin University bachelor’s degree programs. Students who successfully complete a Diploma from the College are eligible for entry into the second year of the relevant Deakin University undergraduate degree. The Deakin University Masters Qualifying Program (Business and Law) is only offered to international students; this program is a pathway to selected Deakin University Postgraduate Programmes.

Deakin College offers on-campus and off-campus accommodation options. College students enrolled in the campuses located in Australia have complete access to the campus facilities available at Deakin University, however, these facilities may not be available to college students in the Jakarta Campus. Regardless of the campus location, all Deakin College students have access to a range of support services and facilities offered by the College.

    Financial Aid & Scholarship

    The Deakin College Australian Student Academic Merit Scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in Diploma courses (Commerce, Computing, Health Sciences, Business, Media and Communication, Engineering, and Science) with outstanding academic results in their first trimester. Deakin College shares a partnership with Navitas, therefore, the Navitas Academic Merit Scholarship is awarded each semester to the most outstanding results from two students across all programs. Additionally, the Navitas family bursary is awarded in situations where two or more students from the same family study at a Navitas institution.
