Princeton is a special place for many reasons. Permit me to list three among many: (i) your classmates: while I don't doubt that there are many institutions with wonderful students, I believe that the focus on the undergraduate experience empowers 17-22 year olds to push themselves mentally and socio-emotionally in a protected environment that is unrivaled; (ii) the option value inherent within the degree: from personal experience, I have enjoyed a number of different careers since Old Nassau and I believe that the Princeton degree provided comfort to employers and others that my "professional reinventions" were not without some merit and probability of success; and (iii) the enduring sense of community after the undergraduate years: the Princeton University isn't unique in its support of its alumni, but I posit that it is virtually peerless with respect to the willingness of the alumni to set aside all manner of difference to assist someone just upon...

On a less educational note - the ceramics studio was one of our favorite places to go (tucked at the basement of the Wilson building, but this is so typical of Princeton - to get to the good stuff you have to dig in), the students' Shakespeare company was phenomenal, as were student productions of Peter Pan and others.
