Mount Allison University - Master's Degree
Mount Allison University traces its roots back to 1839 when Sackville merchant, Charles Federick Allison proposed creation of an institute of elementary education and higher learning. Mount Allison University was opened as Mount Allison Academy for boys before including a women's college in the year 1854. The school was officially deemed licensed to grant degrees in 1858, and in 1862 its first University hall was erected. Mount Allison University became the first Canadian school to award a Bachelor of Arts degree to a women(Harriet Starr Stewart) in the year 1882.
Today, Mount Allison University features as the #1 ranked Canadian undergraduate university by Maclean's magazine more times than any other school in Canada. 96% of Mount Allison University's faculty hold highest degrees in their respective fields.
