School Description

Centennial College was established in 1996 as the first public college in Ontario and its core focus since then has been to prepare its students for a real life work environment as well as to cultivate leadership qualities in them. The College is about to celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2016; its 50-year reputation had been built on being one of the most culturally diverse post-secondary establishments. In order to bring the Centennial experience to international students Centennial works alongside governments and educations agents abroad, resulting in a great surge in its reputation and its international student enrolment between 2006 to 2010.

Centennial has also become a leader in Applied Research. Based on the success of applied research projects involving Centennial students, faculty and industry partners. Centennial College was awarded first prize for innovation in applied research by College and Institutes Canada (CICan 2015). The Centennial College Applied Research and Innovation Centre has a successful record of college-industry innovation in fields such as wireless networking, animation and gaming, sustainable energy, environmental sciences, aviation and automation, health, digital media, hospitality and global citizenship and equity.
