School Description

Lake Washington Institute of Technology was started in 1949 by Lake Washington School District as an adult vocation training programme. In 1991, Lake Washington Institute of Technology became independent of the school district and started operating as a degree-granting technical college. In 2011, the school name was changed from Lake Washington Technical College to Lake Washington Institute of Technology.

Lake Washington Institute of Technology is the only public Institute of Technology in the state of Washington. Lake Washington Institute of Technology offers 43 associate degrees and 91 professional training certificates in 42 disciplines of study. LWTech is home to more than 6,500 students of which 3,397 students are full-time. Lake Washington Institute of Technology has recreational space for its students to get involved in extra-curricular activities and sports.
