School Description

Grossmont College was established in 1961 after a deciding vote approved the institution and was named Grossmont Junior College. Later on that year, the college opened its doors to 1,538 students on the Monte Vista High School campus in Spring Valley. Grossmont College moved to a new campus in 1964 and another in 1967 to accommodate the increased number of enrolling students.

Today the facilities of Grossmont College are situated across 135 acres and accommodates over 20,000 students. Grossmont College offers more than 150 degree and certificate programs and offers several specialized programs including; Administration of Justice, Orthopedic Technology, Respiratory Therapy and many more. Grossmont College was voted San Diego's Best Community College conducted by the state's Newspaper in 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2010
