School Description

Durham College was established in the year 1967 in Ontario with only 16 portable classrooms, 14 staff members and a total enrollment of 205 students. Durham College added more disciplines over the next decade and its student enrollment grew more than 6 times to about 1, 250 students. Durham College opened a campus facility that came to be known as Whitby campus in the early 1990s and it houses a dedicated skills training centre for apprenticeship courses. In the year 2003, Durham college entered in an agreement with University of Ontario institute of Technology to form a post-secondary partnership offering a flexible pathway for students to earn both a diploma and degree.

Today, Durham College has been providing post-secondary education in the province of Ontario for over 50 years. Durham College's two campuses viz; Oshawa and Whitby combined are operated by over 7,00 staff and faculty members and they house more than 11,000 full-time students. Durham College has over 70 student clubs and organizations to host activities and accommodate wide variety of interests of on-campus students.
