School Description

Bow Valley College was initially established as the Alberta vocational centre in the 1965. Since 1972, Bow Valley College has been located on 3rd Avenue and 6th Street Southeast in Calgary. The college continues to expand its footprint between downtown Calgary and the city's East Village. In the year 1988, the college transitioned from a government administered model to an independent, board -governed college and it adopted the name Bow Valley College.

Today Bow Valley College students and faculty represent 148 countries and 98 different languages. Bow Valley College campuses put students at the centre of downtown Calgary. Bow Valley College's modern campuses offer everything from high tech classrooms to fresh food and career and development centre to medical centre for student and child care. Bow Valley College offers academic programs in a variety of areas including career training, university transfer courses, adult upgrading, and English language learning.

    Graduates of the Digital Design Diploma program are capable of the creative aspects of designing and producing flexible digital and print media, including websites, e-publications, applications, and interactive/multimedia products for public, non-profit, and corporate clients. Working individually or as part of a project team, graduates have the skills to present, defend, and critique digital media projects meeting client need, project scope, and available resources.

    Justice Studies

    This two-year diploma program is designed to equip students with the theoretical and practical knowledge of the fundamentals of Criminal Justice. The program offers courses that focus on the study of the history and theory of law enforcement; operational command leadership; administration of public police organizations; labor relations; incident response strategies; legal and regulatory responsibilities; budgeting; public relations; and organizational leadership.
