The Art Institute of Portland - Bachelor's Degree

The school is a part of The Art Institutes, owned by Education Management Corporation (EDMC), a private for-profit corporation headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was formerly named Bassist College and was acquired by EDMC in 1998. Bassist was founded in 1963 by Norma and Donald Bassist as a fashion institute for women. In 2009, they added a culinary arts program, offering degrees in culinary management and culinary arts, as well as a diploma in baking and pastry.
