SOAS University of London - Bachelor's Degree

SOAS University of London is the only Higher Education institution in Europe specialising in the study of Asia, Africa and the Near and Middle East. This means that SOAS scholars grapple with the pressing issues of these regions, concerning democracy, development, human rights, identity, legal systems, poverty, religion and social change; more importantly however they serve as guardians of a specialised knowledge in languages, periods and regions not available anywhere else in the UK.

2005-2009, BA (Honours) Development Studies and South Asian Studies

Thought provocative , fun and diverse. The open communication with professors and the challenging, provocative tutorial discussions.

      • Testimony
2011-2014, Bachelor of Arts (BA), Politics and Development Studies

The wealth of knowledge that exists at SOAS especially from the staff is second to none. My experience at SOAS deepened my cultural intelligence as well as enhanced my discipline in terms of meeting the requirements of my course and wanting to go beyond the minimum that was required of me. The lecturers were very attentive and supportive.

      • Testimony
        1997-2000, Bachelor's Degree, Comparative Religion

Great people, amazing library, positive & inclusive environment. I arrived with no real school education as a "mature student" at 25. I left with a First Class BA Hons in Comparative Religion. I have two stand-out quotes from lecturers. The first is a Piatigorski classic, 'We can only ever be subjectively aware or our own subjectivity'. The second is from the Zoroastrian tradition, 'Good Thought, Good Word, Good Deed'. If you need anything more SOAS has plenty to discover.
