School Description

SHSU is the third oldest public institution of higher learning in Texas. It is one of the oldest purpose-built institutions for the instruction of teachers west of the Mississippi River and the first such institution of its type in Texas. The main campus sits on 316 acres in the central area of Huntsville. Two large agricultural complexes feature a 1,600 acre teaching and research farm and a rodeo arena.

As with any education, you are going to get out what you put into it-- but if you put in the effort, the professors and staff at SHSU will match your effort, challenge you in your studies, and prepare you for your future career. I am so glad I chose SHSU for my graduate degree!
