School Description

Northern State University (NSU) is home to 3,600 students. Students at NSU are offered a wide range of bachelor’s degree programs including History, Criminal Justice, Musical Theater, Political Science, Human Performance, and Economics. The NSU campus offers a range of multipurpose facilities including The Barnett Center for athletics, the Beulah Williams Library, fine art studios, The Student Center, and the Technology Center. Moreover, 50 student clubs and organizations, events, and activities are available to students at NSU. Additionally, students are supported by NSU’s services for health, counseling, academic skills, and career advice. The skill-building workshops, resources and employment links offered by the Career Services help boost a students employability. All students are NSU are offered a range of comfortable and safe on-campus accommodation options.

    Financial Aid & Scholarship

    International students at NSU are offered the First-Year International Student scholarship worth $1,500, the International Student Ambassador scholarship worth $750 per semester, and the International Emerging Entrepreneur worth up to $30,000.
    • WolfPACT Scholarship

      This is one of the most generous, far-reaching, four-year scholarships in the region. And it’s based purely on ACT or SAT scores. The higher the score, the higher the amount of the scholarship. Students receive up to $12,000 over four years. Deadline is March 1st of every year.

    • International Student Scholarship

      This is a one-time scholarship of $1,500 and is guaranteed to all new international students on a student visa. 

    • Fine Arts Scholarships

      Entering freshmen and transfer students may apply for a limited number of art, music and theatre scholarships. Deadline is February 1, 2018.
