Glion Institute of Higher Education - Bachelor's Degree
Glion Institute of Higher Education was originally established as ‘Centre International de Glion’ by two Swiss tourism pioneers, Walter Hunziker and Frédéric Tissot in 1962. The first class held at the institute comprised of 15 students from five countries. Since then however, the Institute has grown tremendously; it opened its second campus in Bulle in 1989. Glion conferred its first Bachelor’s degrees in 1995, and saw the commencement its Master’s program in 2000 offering an MBA in International Hospitality and Service Industries Management, with the options to specialize in Leadership or Marketing.
In 2002, Glion joined the Laureate group and became the Glion Institute of Higher Education. Eight years later the University introduced its Online MBA course. In 2012 Glion celebrated its fiftieth anniversary and a year later, opened a third campus in London. Over the years Glion has retained a sense of the traditional Swiss hospitality while adapting its programs and courses to an ever-changing industry.
