George Brown College is a college of applied arts and technology with three campuses in downtown Toronto, Canada. It offers students more than 100 full-time programs including certificates, diplomas, graduate certificates, apprenticeships and degrees in areas of arts, design and information technology, business, health sciences, hospitality and culinary arts, liberal studies among many others. School Description

George Brown College's history started in the year 1951 when it was first opened as the Provincial Institute of Trades by the Ontario Government to provide veterans of the second World War skilled training. As the province established a new college system, the institute expanded its programs in 1967 and subsequently opened as George Brown College. Its namesake, George Brown, was a politician and newspaper publisher of the 19th century who strongly believed in public education and was an essential figure in the formation of Canada. Through the years, George Brown College became a significant contributor to various economic sectors by providing learning opportunities in soft skills development, field education, and applied research, doubling its size and broadening international partnerships by the 21st century.

At present, George Brown College offers a wide range of programs including 30 certificates, 34 diplomas, 31 advanced diplomas, 31 graduate certificates, 6 degrees, 5 pre-college, and 12 apprenticeships to more than 30,000 students, almost 4,000 of which are international students. George Brown College has three main campuses in downtown and midtown Toronto namely, St. James Campus, Waterfront Campus, and Casa Loma Campus along with several off-campus locations.

Includes instruction in management theory, human resources management and behavior, accounting and other quantitative methods, purchasing and logistics, organization and production, marketing, and business decision-making.

    A program that focuses on the design and provision of teaching and other educational services to infant and pre-school age children with special learning needs or disabilities, and that prepares individuals to teach such students. Includes instruction in diagnosing learning disabilities, developing individual education plans, teaching and supervising special education students, special education counseling, and applicable laws and policies.
