Established in 1963 in the beautiful city of Spokane in the eastern part of Washington State, CCS is a community college district that offers students of all ages and abilities a wide range of educational opportunities through its two accredited institutions.
CCS is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities and governed by the Washington State Board of Community and Technical Colleges.
Serving over 30,000 students annually, CCS’s dynamic institutions, Spokane Community College (SCC) and Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) offer students a vibrant and comprehensive learning experience.
Spokane Community College (SCC)
With its main campus spread across 148-acres, Spokane Community College (SCC) is one of the largest community colleges in Eastern Washington.
Located next to the Spokane River, SCC is a two-year public community college offering students exceptional transfer options and programs that enable graduates to secure jobs in high- demand professions. Students can choose from 120 career and technical certificate and associate degrees in a wide range of study areas including Architecture, IT, Environmental Science, Business Management, and Electronics Engineering, just to name a few.
Spokane Community College (SCC) facilities
Students at Spokane Community College (SCC) have access to a wide range of facilities including a fitness center, swimming pool, career services like resume tips, job search tools and career assessment, over 40 clubs and organizations, free tutoring and learning resources, and counseling with mental health or academic advising.
Students can also benefit from the Multicultural Student Services Center which offers an inclusive environment with access to multicultural resources, advocacy, activities, programming and club activities. Students belonging to traditionally under-represented backgrounds are offered assistance to ensure they achieve academic success.
Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC)
Located in Spokane and Pullman, Washington, Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) is a two-year public community college. Offering students, a wide range of certificate and associate degrees, SFCC provides affordable programs of the highest quality to ensure student success.
Students can choose from different types of degrees and certificates offered at SFCC depending on their future goals. Some programs are ideal for students looking to transfer to a four-year university while others result in an associate degree or certificate that can lead to immediate employment. Students can choose from career-technical certificates and degrees, transfer degrees and bachelor of applied science programs. More than 60% of SFCC graduates transfer to a four-year university.
Students can choose from a wide range of areas of study including audio engineering, business and Software applications, business management, cyber security, digital media production, and education.
Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) campuses
The Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) main campus is located in West Spokane. SFCC also has a campus in the Washington State University’s (WSU) main campus in Pullman.
Students enrolled in a program at SFCC’s WSU Pullman campus can enjoy many of the amenities of a university while attending community college. Additionally, the partnership between WSU and SFCC helps students receive ongoing WSU transfer counseling to ensure their credits transfer seamlessly to WSU.
Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) facilities
Students at Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) have access to an inclusive, barrier-free campus that offers a wide range of facilities including over 20 clubs and organizations, and tutoring and learning resources.
Students can also benefit from the Multicultural Office for Students Actively Involved in Community (MOSAIC) where students belonging to minority communities are offered guidance through student services, support and academic learning in order to assist them with personal development, academic achievement and graduation. In addition to MOSAIC, students have access to the LGBT Student Center which provides a safe space for people of all sexual and gender identities through clubs and community organizations.
Furthermore, SFCC offers services and accommodations to students with disabilities in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and other relevant state and federal laws.
Scholarship options for international students
International students can apply for a scholarship through the Community Colleges of Spokane Foundation. Every year, the CCS Foundation offers over 300 major scholarships for tuition and books in addition to the hundreds of smaller awards to cover testing costs, program fees, and emergency needs.
Application process for international students
Spokane Community College (SCC) and Spokane Falls Community College (SFCC) welcome the applications of international students. Both colleges offer international students the opportunity to pursue a quality education and prepare students for an easy transition to four-year colleges and universities.
International students are admitted by the Global Education Office and need to provide evidence of high school graduation or equivalent. Once enrolled, international students must successfully complete 12 credits each quarter and maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.0 (C grade).

The second most populated city in Washington, students can experience four seasons in Spokane, including warm summers and snowy winters. The city is home to the magnificent Spokane Falls, which is the second-largest urban waterfall in the United States of America.
Students can enjoy strolls at Riverfront Park, which is known to be one of the most scenic urban parks in the nation, and enjoy the Lilac Garden in Manito Park, which is one of the most important lilac gardens in the West. Furthermore, Spokane offers easy access to numerous lakes, ski resorts, mountains, and bike paths.
