Pacific Oaks College has two locations; the main campus is in the city of Pasadena in Southern California and the other is located in San Jose in the Bay Area of Northern California.
Pasadena lies in the San Gabriel Valley, only ten miles away from downtown Los Angeles. Culture emanates throughout the city and its surrounding areas with numerous museums, art galleries, and theatres all within walking distance of the Pacific Oaks’ campus. Students are also lucky to be in close proximity to many popular cafes, bookshops, restaurants, and boutiques. Pacific Oaks’ second campus is located in San Jose, in Northern California, close to Silicon Valley. The city is a melting pot of cultures and communities, where students will find diversity and opportunity at every turn. Prior Learning Assessment Credits
Pacific College understands and appreciates that higher level learning can be obtained outside of the traditional classroom. And in this regard, the college offers Prior Learning Assessment Credits - the opportunity for students to turn their real-world experience into college credit that counts towards their degree. Through a review process, students who have been admitted to the Bachelor of Arts in Human Development or the Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education programs with at least 5 years of relevant work experience can earn up to 30 credits towards a BA in Human Development, earn up to 24 credits towards a BA in Early Childhood Education and potentially save up to $24,000 in tuition through this program. International Baccalaureate Exams (IB Exams) are also considered towards college-level credit at Pacific Oaks College.
Center for Achievement, Resources and Enrichment (Care)
The Center for Achievement, Resources, and Enrichment (CARE) works with the Pacific Oaks College community to maximise student opportunity and success. They provide the student body a holistic, personalized approach to numerous services. CARE helps students improve their professional skills, offers career advice, provides networking opportunities and helps them be prepared for their future professional lives. The group offers tutoring services to students to help them improve their professional and learning skills. CARE works closely with students to ensure that they reach their personal, academic, and professional goals. International students are also given ample support in their transition to Pacific Oaks College and their new home environment.
